[Edit: Answered by Matt] :) Need help guessing date of this Case Mini Copperlock

My understanding is that Case first issued the Case Mini Copperlock in 1988, but I can't place the tang stamp against any Case Date Code Charts from then to now.
The dots (and their position) are throwing me a bit but also the "S" in USA is not a lightening "S" as I would expect. I just need some help trying to guess the year of mfg on this 61749L Mini Copperlock.
