EDIT, FOUND IT: Last week I lost a faithful Victorinox companion of over 25 years

Have done the same thing myself. On a few occasions my clipped knife has fallen out of my pocket while Driving. Didn't find it with the first look under the seat. After tearing the house apart:mad:, I checked the car again, and found it.

Now how I search a vehicle. Grab a flashlight, slide seat all the way back and look under from the front. Then slide seat all the forward and look under from the rear.:D

Well, this lost and found story has had interesting consequences.

I placed a fairly low bid on a Victorinox Climber before I found the Fieldmaster, thinking it would be a worthy replacement.

I just received email notification that I won the Climber, so instead of a replacement for the Fieldmaster, it will now be a companion (like I need another knife!).

Glad you found it. I too have a Fieldmaster that's a number of years old and has sentimental value. I'd be quite upset if I lost it.

Thanks. I am glad to have it back, not just because of its history, but because of its usefulness. I can't tell you how many times I reached for it while it was missing. The bottle opener was especially missed during Thanksgiving weekend with my extended family. In our kitchen back here in North Carolina we have an old one screwed into the wall of the island that makes one hand opening a cinch. My sister in Ohio only has a couple barely operable hand openers (one being on one of those combination can openers - meh!).

The Fieldmaster would have been very busy if it wasn't AWOL.

Nice! I like those scales too, might have to get something like that...

Yeah, I do too. Which is another reason I was sad to have lost it (even if only temporarily), because I had so recently put them on. The Climber I have coming next week also has the nylon, not the cellidor, so I think that one will become a regular carry knife.

Climber is a good companion, I never leave the house with out it.

I plan on getting black nylon scales for it soon
