My duty knife...She's so pretty dressed in blue :D

EDIT:

I recieved the scales today and they're a joke. The fit is rubbish, 2 screws are stripped, its not drilled for left-hand carry, the cut-out for the axis lock is not chamfered, the scales are up to 2 mm too thick, the pocket clip cant be mounted because of difference in thickness, etc.

Needless to say, im pretty pissed.

Is this a so-called custom fit? Look at the difference especially around the jimping.

Theres a difference in thickness between the 2 scales of ca. 1 mm which is visible to the naked eye.

Look at the difference between the stock scales and the "custom" scales.

This is the worst bit. Up on removing the scales i discovered that the stop-pin screw had been stripped. AFter i took the pic, i discovered yet another stripped screw. Now i have to contact BM to get a new set.

The cutout around the axis-lock i chamfered on the original scales. That's so you can grab the lock and pull it back. The "custom" scales are not chamfered, which makes it a hassle to disengage the lock. Its near impossible to do so, while wearing gloves.

Note also how there are no holes drilled for left hand carry. Even if i drilled themselves, theres no flat spot for the pocket clip to rest.

wow! How much did those run you?

90 Euros including shipping.

Looks great. I'm still waiting for mine to get here. It's been weeks.

Yeah, it took him around 1.5 months to get mine done. I asked for some digi-cam scales first, but changed my order to the blue ones later. What are you getting?

Those looks awesome

I wasn't aware that they had some for the 810 :)

They didn't. I had to send my knife in. But I assume they have the template now, so they can make Contego scales without having to send the knife in.

That's pretty cool you were involved in that respect, they look really good. I am hoping that BM will come out with a Gold/LE 810 in the near future (hopefully without an outrageous price tag ;)

I got the knife in today and theres nothing "custom" about them. Im utterly disappointed and they're being sent back as we speak. I will update my first post with pics.

What a joke.

I gotta agree with you man. Not to make you feel worse but those do like a POS.

Perhaps you just got a lemon? Either way, I'm sure Cuscadi will take care of it.

Sorry to read that....really poor F&F. What I would want to know is how that knife left the shop like that? I've heard lots of good things about Cuscadi, but this is not one of them; hope they fix the multiple problems ASAP, and all on their reputation and shipping.

+1

Sorry bro, nothing worse than waiting and finally getting it like that, give 'em hell

Damn, that sucks. I'm still waiting on mine and it's been over one month. I'm hoping mine turn out ok. Anyways, try sending them an email, I'm sure they will want to make it right.

I've never been a big fan of the grooves on scales like that for some reason. I like the texturing on the M4 Grip from Shot Show, and the Volli as well. It doesn't make sense to make scales for a knife that has super thick G10, the scews are countersunk far too deep and at different depths at times. Just looks sloppy. I hope they get you fixed up.

How could they send this out and think that you wouldn't notice the stripped screws, lack of fit, and loss of functionality?

Big time let down. I'll be interested to hear how they handle this snafu. At the very least, I'd expect a full refund of all costs, and new screws.
