Most astute collectors are familiar with the precise and exacting bladesmithing work of Edmund Davidson. In fact, the well-known Dr David Darom has published a book highlighting Mr Davidson's great body of work.
Here is an absolutely gorgeous piece - a persian styled knife probably designed as a fillet knife - and this is as highend as a collector can get, when it comes to a fillet knife.
Edmund Davidson's original (marked "PROTOTYPE") of the fillet knife, and is so marked on the tang.
Overall length 12", African elephant ivory scales. Perfect metal (440-C), beautiful ivory. Purchased new in 1991 and immediately put on display at a rather well-known truckstop knife display in Virginia until earlier this year, when the collection was broken apart. Never used, never sheathed. No sheath. First pic, front pin exhibits a VERY TINY stable line, can't even call it a crack, in my opinion. This is a phenomenal deal, selling at my cost to make room- need the room.
$XXXX Holiday Special Has Expired - Offer Ended. US buyers only, shipping included, USPS money order or non-fee Paypal only (personal check ok if we know each other). First email to rbetznerr@sbcglobal.net saying "I'll take the Davidson at $XXXX" gets it.
