Educate me on Peanuts

Congrats on the new addition!

Carl, maybe I will try it out eventually then. Are there different patterns, or just the rain drop style? I'd rather not have that particular pattern. I'll have to call Monday and see if they have any with 2012 date codes. That trumps all. I'm going to get ahold of a few people and ask about waiting for a Feb 2012 date code.

I could be wrong but I don't believe Case have used anything other than Thomas raindrop for their recently produced knives. They did, however, use a (Parker, I believe) random pattern on some of their older ones.

Good luck with your search!

There is also the Pearl Damascus Peanut.

Personally, I think I would try to find a yellow one from this year to keep for her and pick another CV version for yourself to use. If you're going to be too afraid to use the damascus model on top of not being able to afford it right now, you should just pass on that idea for a while. Besides, a picture of her with the yellow blanket and matching knife would be something nice to give her along with the Peanut when you decide she's ready to have it.

Congrats on the newest addition to your family.

That is a really cool idea. Funny how it worked out with how you picked the pattern. I would normally recommend the Chestnut Brown Bone CV, which is my fav, but considering your blanket idea, yeller handles sound appropriate. Maybe get the Yellow for her and the Chestnut Brown for you.

Congrats! I have a three year old daughter and my wife is expecting in August. The yellow peanut is a great idea.
