Since I've been a Busse fan I've written off most things EDC. Nothing caught my eye and the proportions of handle to blade length just didn't do it for me. I do however LOVE my Vex. Its been designated to Kitchen duty though, performs amazing and I don't want to mess it up with EDC chores. I wish Busse would just duplicate the Vex. Make it Infi, add a talon hole, call it a day... No such luck.

Any way, I'm kind of coming around with the various Wardens. Small blade, similar rounded vex-like handle... INFI!!!.... so...

I've been looking at the leaners/meaners (same blank right?) I think the handle is ugly with its hornets-like skull crusher, but the blade is nice.

Basically looking for some comparison specs for all things EDC, opinions, pictures... sales pitches, motivation... I know about Hog Cult but its a pain to navigate. Also interested in any other EDC I'm unaware of.

I'm trying to stay away from anything approaching Ratmandu length because... well... I have a Ratmandu.

I would suggest you find a .170" Hack meaner from last years KC. It has the talon hole and the butt removed.

Awesome blade. Dont ask me cause I only have one:D

I've got my eye out for a Boney Active Duty. Seems like the perfect INFI EDC to me. I like the Wardens also but they're to similar to the Izula that I already neck carry.

What about the active duty? (edit: as Mr. Hoopster mentioned)

I love mine and EDC it often

The BADs look like a meaner sort of, but are smaller, right? I like those too, but I'm not a fan of the tail end of the handle.

Knife Hunter, can I get a picture?

The handle of a meaner is what? I don't think you should knock that knife, there are a lot of people that will pay top dollars for those little blades. I think you should try to get a hold of one and once in your hand you will understand the addiction and why they demand so much money. Trust me, they are not over rated. But Busse does make some killer smaller blades and I have to say for a smaller blade the .22" Hack is a killer knife. I guess it's like with all Busse, get one of each and decide for yourself, it's the only way...

The tail on the AD and the MS is why I prefer both over the GW. They are VERY comfortable in the hand. For me the MS is a much nicer feeling blade than the Boss Street at the same general size. For EDC the Cultellus is also a great little knife.

Haha... a hornets rear end? I didn't say it was over rated at all. I get hung up on stupid things regardless of how good the knife is. My Vex is 8-1/4" and the Meaner is roughly 8-3/4" right? It might be the direction I go in. I thought the warden would be good but didn't realize its more than an inch shorter than the Vex... which I really like. I just dont want anything approaching RMD length... thats not an EDC in my book.

Ugh, I need to quit letting my daughter read over my shoulder, the language is awful again all of a sudden. :barf:

Again, the parental controls are in full effect. :grumpy:

Here's a similar pic. I dont have a pic yet of the one I am referring to but it has the same handle as this but the blade is totally spec to that of the meaner. THis one is from Easton and is slightly different from the Hack MS

I EDC my HRLM, it fits me well, I like the belly and overall size of it, allthough I must say I have had my eye on both an AD and the Boss Street for sometime...I may pull the trigger on both and have a rotation. All the suggestions above are great, its all about feel, but finding a handling session may prove difficult...so try to know your likes and dislikes in a knife before you narrow it down. If it werent for the elf choil on the HRLM that knife would be my Grail.

The bad is the AD with a thinner, higher hardness blade for even better edge retention.

They work great in the kitchen. I also did not like the tail on the Meaner/SS handles. But now, it actually serves a purpose. I use it on my stripped SS as a fire striker. Works awesome and you don't have to take the knife out of the sheath to use it as such.

The AD handle does not have the tail at all. Just a rear talon hole, with a smooth but.

You might want to look at at cultie. They feel great in the hand, especially with the mag handles. Nice and thin, with a bit extra blade length just to make them better all arounders especially in the kitchen.

I'm with adrock1978 on the handle issue, I find it visually less appealing. I love the GW handle, but, to each his own.

I just ended up EDC a folder.

Now I feel like I need to handle my Vex to decide which size Busse I'd like. Man! SRKW really got it right with those dimensions. 4" blade, just over 8"... straight classic handle... perfect thickness. If only I wasn't brainwashed into thinking INFI is better, I'd already have the perfect EDC. :p
