Hello,

Just wondering if there are any folder kits out there that actually teach you about making a folder. On my last order from K&G, on an impulse, I picked up a framelock kit they had on sale...aside from grinding the blade for the lock bar engagement, it's basically a screw together affair. Kinda fun, but I'm not sure I learned all that much.

I thought at one time USA Knifemaker had something that required quite a bit of effort to put together, but I'm not seeing it at their site any longer.

Thanks!

Tracy's site did have some folder "kits." Basically, waterjet cut parts that still had to be drilled, ground, heat treated, finished, and assembled.

Thanks. Those are along the lines of what I was looking for, but I only see lockback kits (no framelock or linerlock kits that I could find.) Does anyone else sell something like this?

OOPs,my bad, justg went to the pae and copied the link.Haven't looked at it in awhile.Looks like they are sold out.
Sorry.

Knifekits.com has a lot to choose from and they are pretty good to deal with as well. They dont have basic kits but you can always swap out parts as well. I bought 4 different ones and am swapping out blades and scales on all. Just having to put them together is teaching me how they fit.

I ordered a couple of these last Christmas and had a blast with my youngest son and a couple of my nephews putting these together. The kit creates an honest-to-goodness lockback knife with a realistic action. Cool stuff.

I had to remind the kids that even though these were made from wood, they were still knives. They weren't allowed to take these to school, church, the airport or anywhere else a knife shouldn't go! :)
