European Boar Hunting Sword shortened to "EeBHuS". I made it up of course. :) But I had to shorten it.

I posted this in the Blade Show thread. But here is it's own thread. The blade is a laddered W pattern of relatively high layer count. It's 18-1/2 inches and is about a heavy 1/4 inch at the ricasso. Nice taper and fullers make it pretty light and easy to handle.

Here's how it started.

Now it's past the danger point.

Spectacular, Lin, congrats! The fuller and swedge really set it off. I'm with Roger about the guard . . . any hints?

So many levels of cool to this Lin, can't wait to how the hilt comes together.

These parts represent several days of work. I'm just now getting the handle finalized. I will try to get a nice photo taken soon.

That is a quintessential hunting sword in my opinion. Nice work and thanks for the post.

Thanks guys. I got it finished and will have Chuck shoot it as soon as I can. But I snapped a few pictures to give you an idea of how it looks. I cant seem to catch the blade shimmer and the handle in the same light.

As you can see, Oak was the motif I chose. It was a common theme used on some of the 19th century Boar Swords as well as some others.

VERY nice, Lin

don't know much about hunting swords, but that looks fit for an Emperor or King...
