Effectiveness of Stainless Steel Wrap in Atmospheric Ovens

For God's sake and all that is holy, do not try to make your oven a neutral or reducing atmosphere with carbonaceous materials as a "getter". Ask me how well Kanthal wire likes a reducing atmosphere.
 
yep and if you get a good low air foil pack and you are doing high temp steel you can weld the foil to the blade at about 2150 even in a plate quench
