Effingham Blackjack question (or two)

I picked this up a few years ago in a pawn shop -

It was pretty well scratched up, but the name was still legible, it's an Effingham Blackjack Skinner, I got it for $30. I tried to sharpen it freehand with poor results, so I tossed it in a drawer for a few years. Now I know more about convex edges, and have got it shaving sharp with a mousepad, w&d sandpaper, and a strop, it has an awesome edge now. I also managed to get most of the scratches off the blade. It says "Carbon Steel" on the reverse of the blade, does anyone know what type of steel it is? I also need a sheath, there are several on ebay, does anyone know if any of the other Blackjack sheaths are interchangable? One last question, is the handle Stag, or "Bone" Stag? I love this knife, and fortunately it is not in mint condition so I can put it to good use without killing it's value.
Thanks!

Jim the steel is either A2 or 0170-6 carbon steel. More then likely the 0170-6. The handle is stag.

Scott, do you know what years they used A2 on Effingham Blackjack Trailguides?

My leather stacked handled one is A2.

LC, all the Effingham Blackjack Trailguides were A2. The only other Blackjack that used A2 was the Squad Leader.

Gotcha!

I passed on a knife at a recent gun & knife show that I am almost wishing I had bought now, a Blackjack Yukon folder with Stag handles and AUS6 blade.
