I was browsing for new knives from Buck, and I stumbled across this knife and I have a few questions.. When did it come out and for people who own it, how do you like it? (pros and cons)
Thanks in advance,
Eric
Well looks like nobody feels like they can pen an opinion for you on the the Pro.
I just bought at build out with 420hc and the Avid handles (rosewood). All I can say is it feels good in my hand...good not great. The weight is good and the balance is fine.
Other than that it looks capable but as I've not used it that's as far as I can go with my comments. Mayb Evil Eye Earl will make an appearance. He got one in January I think and chance would be good he used it during second season down in Texas.
I have used the Ergo Pro on a mule deer hunt. It worked wonderfully in that the multi-grips possible let you move from a large knife when needed to then choking up for a smaller knife feel.
The slight bellied out blade also was very effective for skinning.
I was pleased.
I am anxious to hear other reports from the field.
One thing I really enjoyed was the separate gut hook ring. It made skinning much faster for me and was easier to control then having it on the knife blade itself.
I was with a group so the knives got to see a few muleys and some antelope.
