Howdy knife folks!
I have an Ek Commando Bowie knife that I would like to trade.
This is the “made in Effingham, IL” model with black paracord wrapped handle and flat cross guard.
What I’m looking for is a new good quality fixed blade edc knife in the 3”-4” range to add to my line-up.
I’m open to offers and considerations. I don’t have a ‘specific’ knife that I’m looking for, but I’ll know it when I see it!
My two most frequent edc blades are a modified Benchmade Nim-Cub and a Tops mini scandi. My current dream knife is a Carothers DEK1 (I know that wouldn’t be even close to a fair trade, just an example of something I like)
I’ve had this knife for years and while I do really like it, I’ve never used it. It has sheath marks on the blade, but doesn’t look as though it’s ever been used to cut anything. I haven’t even cut paper with it, just handled it and waved it around a bit. The edge is in great shape, I’ve given it a few swipes on my worksharp, it is very sharp but not quite shaving sharp. Whoever ends up with it can give it that extra tlc.
If I was to keep it I would end up modifying it, putting proper handle scales and reshaping the handle, and making a proper leather sheath for it. Any of that work could actually be a part of trade considerations if somebody was interested. I could send pictures of some of my work if interested.
I already have several knifes that I like better that fill the role this would though, so let’s find this guy a new home!
