  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Ek commando? Somebody fill me in on these

Bump for an old thread

Anyone know what kind of steel and heat treatment Blackjack used.
If I remember correctly the ones with a square steel guard were 440A, but the ones with a curved brass guard were 440C. The Bowies I am referring to.

I remember reading in some of the Ek literature how FDR had an Ek commando knife in his desk, I asked the FDR Library about it back in 2008, and I must have forgotten what they told me back then, apparently he didn’t visit the White House but I inquired again and this time they sent me old pics and letters that John Ek sent with his knife and the correspondence the FDR staff had with him. I would also love to see info about the Ek knives that Patton and Clarke Cable were reported to have had.

I have a Richmond model 5 double edged Bowie in desert tan chord wrap, I purchased it back during the first gulf war, so my question based in what was said in the earlier posts, were the Richmond Eks made in a Japan as stated? And assembled in Richmond Or were they made in Richmond?
