I just saw an ad in the July Blade magazine for the Ek knife Company of Richmond, Va. I had to check the cover to make sure I didn't pick up a ten year old magazine. I did not know they were back. Does anyone out there have any background on this subject?

Hello,

I had the same reaction - so I called the company to see what's up. They said they are the same company as before but all of thier knives will be "hand-made" by them in their facility down south. I guess availability will be similar to Dozier et al. - can be bought through the company or from a very select few retailers.

Unfortunately I didn't ask anything about steel or heat treatment.

Later,
