really nice ek knife that i picked up at a show about 3 or 4 years ago. knife has never been used or carried and is in mint condition. knife has micarta handle and comes with a great cordura sheath. $150.00 shipped $140 shipped now $130 shipped

This knife was made a few years ago by Mike Stewart and his Bark River Knife Company. Ole Mike helped himself to the EK name/etch until the courts quickly ended Mike's EK making. You can easily tell a Mike Stewart "EK" because he took the liberty of adding a TradeMark (TM) to his version of the EK etch.

I mention this because you'll find this knife will market better to Bark River collectors more than EK collectors.

This style was marketed as an Australia Commando. I believe they (Oz Commandos) used the design at one point but I'm not sure is they were ever EKs

AFAIK, the pattern was an aftermarket model popular w/ the troops (yanks & etc.) stationed in Austrailia & not a Aussie gov't issue knife. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Cool knife BTW- I have an EK & it's a comfortable pattern- good utility knife.

hi, i will give you the specs later when i get home if that's ok, im at work until 11:00. thanks for the interest.

That's cool. I'd have to wait until tomorrow to pay you anyway, my check is on a pending deposit, but evidently it won't make it into the records until tomorrow.

overall knife length is 10 3/4" and blade length is 5 3/4". there are no markings desgnating the steel, but it looks like it is probably A2 steel with the research that i have found. i dont have tool to measure width of the steel. heres another pic of the other side

Hmmm... let me think about it... I'm having trouble deciding between this and a couple other options. I'm sorry, I'll try to make up my mind soon, lol.

Hmmm yes, you would say that, wouldn't you.

Can you link me to any background information on this knife? You had mentioned finding some....

i havent been able to find anything on this one specifically, maybe some of the other members who are familiar with it can chime in. in regards to the research on the steel, it lloks like the most common steel that they used was a2. heres a link to another bark river that looks to have been made at the same time. the pre production prototype logo looks identical
