i havent been able to find anything on this one specifically, maybe some of the other members who are familiar with it can chime in. in regards to the research on the steel, it lloks like the most common steel that they used was a2. heres a link to another bark river that looks to have been made at the same time. the pre production prototype logo looks identical

Nice knife! Ask about the steel on the "Bark River Knife and Tool" and/or the "BlackJack Knives Forum" on Knifeforums - Mike Stewart is a moderator of the BRKT forum, and Jason Stewart is the moderator of the Blackjack forum. Ek and Blackjack used a lot of 440C, along with some other stainless and carbon steels.

As a production model, I believe this was called a model 10, or with the micarta handle would have been an "M-10". I think it was also referred to as the "Aussie Bowie". I'm a novice when it comes to Ek and Blackjack knives, but there are some knowledgeable guys on the KF Blackjack forum.

If someone can verify for me the blade steel as A2 or 440C, I'll take it off your hands, Doorkicker!

How do you like to be paid?

Alright, I'm going to go post it at knifeforums... if someone there verifies the blade steel, consider your knife sold...

Mike says he doesn't remember whether it's 12C27 or 440C, but that's good enough for me, so I'll take it! Email incoming.

Hey doorkicker, if you get a chance, send me an email with the tracking number.
