At an antique show this weekend I bought a Swede 311 and what I have learned is a Swede 38 ($13 and $5 respectively). Now I need the help of you swedes out there. My handle says "for fritiden OK" on it and I cannot figure out what it means!
Any help would be appreciated!
P.S. So far these seem to be excellent knives- I was unaware that they had a double backspring on EKA knives- anybody know why as well?

...

Directly translated, it means "for the sparetime".
What the "OK" means I don't know - doesn't make much sense. It is short for "okay", like in english, but it seems out of context.

A picture could maybe help me :)

Regards
Claus - danish, fluent in swedish and norwegian - still working on english, german, and spanish :D

I guess this knife has been manufactured for the swedish oil company OK for marketing purposes.

You can see the logo on OK's website http://www.ok.se/. The logo has been used since 1969.

OK is an abbreviation of Sveriges Oljekonsumenters Riksförbund (Swedish Oil Consumer's Organization) and the company dates back to 1945. OK is a co-operative company owned by the members. OK used to run its own gas stations but the stations are since 1999 owned by OK-Q8, where OK is a part-owner together with Q8 (Kuwait Petroleum International).

OK-Q8 has gas stations all around Sweden where not only gas but also, among other things, a wide range of sporting goods are sold. Accordningly, there is at least some kind of conneciton between the company OK and the phrase "för fritiden".
