Already know a picture would be nice...
cleaned up my truck axe today , and it has seen some use over the last 20 years.
A Council Tool El Lobo axe ... aprox 20 inch handle.
remember buying it special order years ago when I could not find what I wanted.
Has a splitting head on it with cast fingers to each side of the cutting edge.
Friend told me they are highly collectible now...
Has been a good axe.
any input ???
Looked and did not see it available at Council's website.

HERE is a picture of the ole axe resting on a horse blanket.

That's very cool, I haven't seen one of those before. I imagine that is a real collector's item. What did you use it for? With a twenty inch handle I'm guessing it was mainly for splitting kindling. If you get a chance can you show a pic of the profile (from the top looking down)? Im curious to see how wide that "tooth" section is.

used it for kindlin for hunting and outings... kept it in the truck with my bow saw for trees in the road n such... live 1/2 mile back off the main road.
will do on more pics
remember buying it , went into the neighborhood hardware store and asked the owner to get me a small axe.
what he got me. Remember telling him no junk.
sheath actually has alum on it from the bottom of the tool box where it layed for years... neat really.

That thing looks bad ass.

Seen a few on E pay, if it works, keep on using it. Not a clue what it is, but yours says USA. Seems like they went $40 to $60 for the most part.

know it is made by COUNCIL TOOL ...
El Lobo axe
think it was a SERVICE STAR HARDWARE I ordered in at decades ago.
neato
