Hello
I was wondering if someone could help me with a problem I have encountered.
I preheat my kiln to the recommended temperature and put ny knife in the Kiln. The temperature drops significantly and takes forever to reach the desired aust temp

What can I do to help with this problem

I can't necessarily help, but you might want to post some info about your kiln. Brand, voltage, controller, interior size...... I have a kiln thread going and these are helpful to the people who will be able to help you.

If it is a 120VAC kiln and you are working in the upper range ( stainless HT), then you aren't going to find a solution. 120 volt kilns have a pretty slow rebound, and they are already straining to hold 1900F.

If it is a regular kiln, check the ramp rate. It should be 9999 in most situations. Sometimes the default is much less.

I do what Kevin suggests and have no problems with the recorded temperature coming back up in just a minute or two. More likely I dwell longer than 20min though. More likely an hour.
