Elishewitz knife

I picked this knife up over the last weekend and was wondering if I ended up getting a good deal on it. New the dealer didnt seenm to know a lot about it. Paid 325.00 for it. Seems like a well built knife. DAVID

I know Allen pretty well. You did get a good deal on the knife. $375 is a very good price for it.

I have stayed as a guest of Valerie and Allen many times. His latest quest is for precision, and he achieves it. He has really made his shop into a precision work center with several VERY good and accurate machines, and has spent the time to learn how to machine to the numbers. You should have no problems with this one!
 
Elishewitz has a fine reputation. His knives are sought after by those who know the quality of his blades. I don't think you made the wrong choice.
 
I think you got a great deal on a beautiful knife made by a fine person. Hard to do better than that.
 
If that knife is in new unused condition, I'd say you made a great buy.
I have 2 of Allen's folders from past BLADE shows and I'd expect to pay at least $500.00 for one of his knives new....pre-when he gave up CNC and laser cutting or whetever else technology he was utilizing and went back to cutting his blades on a bandsaw., etc, and went completely "hand made" by him....by his ,and I agree, defintion.

Allen is a very creative maker with a lengthly future.
As a collector and as a maker, I would have no problem spending $500-1000, or more, for one of his folders depending on the materials, details and the price he is asking at his table at a knife show.
 
Yes its new, a local dealer has had it for a while, I offered him 325 for it and it was a done deal. I have a bunch of Benchmade and a few Microtec, Wanted to move up a notch.;)
 
You got a great deal on a fine knife! Nice contouring and interesting finishes-it's a unique piece. Good score!
 
The model you have is the ORACLE.

Allen always made a cool Tanto style blade- This one is no exception. I can tell from here that it is really sharp too. (That's cuz "all" his knives are really sharp).
