From Allan's website on "midtech":
"I am proud to present my first midtech project since 2000! This project started in December 2008; I did not want to rush it and wanted to make sure that it came out perfect. For those who are not familiar with the term "midtech"; it is a knife half manufactured and half handmade. The reason why I started this midtech series is to offer the collectors one of my designs with a lot of custom features at a lower price. I have made full blown customs in the past very similar to the construction and materials in these midtechs and they sold for several hundred dollars more. Because I am working with outside vendors, I cannot predict the availability of these midtechs; I will try to have them in stock but I am at the mercy of their capacity."
