I heard back from Allen . The blade is Chad Nichols' raindrop damascus (stainless steel).

Isn't Stainless Damascus a type of "Damasteel?"

I thought any damascus could be carbon or stainless.

My understanding is that Damasteel is a brand (I believe that it is always a stainless damascus). This damascus blade however was made by Chad Nichols using stainless steel.
