I am considering purchasing an Elishewitz small persian. What are your impressions of this knife? Thanks!

Welcome aboard, newknifeguy.

I purchased a beautiful Elishewitz Persian (smaller size) from the late, great James Mattis at Blade West last year. I really liked the design and Allen's fit and finish on this one was superb. Ergonomically speaking the smaller size ended up being just a bit too small for my above average sized hands. I eventually traded up for an identical folder in the larger size and it's perfect for me.

Having handled a Persian at the vegas Knife show off of Allen's table, it seemed to be a nice knife. Have not owned one myself though, but I do like most of Allen's work. Hope this helps.

Allen does some great work. I would check the liner lock and make sure it doesn't slip. I have handled a few that did and I sent one back to Allen for him to fix with the same problem.

A very nice piece of work - the design and materials just go together like a Zen poem.

BTW I have a Cortex (very pleased with it) and am thinking of adding a Djinn and Persian to the collection. Allen usually has a couple of knives available at his site:

I have about 25 of Allen's knives, folders and fixed blades, a few going back to his very early days. I'm pleased with all of them, my most recent one being a large Neo with Pearl handles. I don't think you could go wrong with any of his knives.

It's called TransMetal and it has an almost 4" blade with a very ergonomic handle perfect for saber grip and reverse/icepick grip...

The top edge is not sharpened....
