Elk 112

That is a beautiful knife. I have one of them coming Monday. I really like the 112 and I have a few of them. I may get a couple more of these Elks to use for future trading.

Can anyone give me some insights on if it's worth the extra $$? Don't mean to hijack...

Go to the Buck web site and build a custom 110 using elk and satin finish 420hc blade. That should put you into the ball park for retail and street value would normally be 75-80% of that in unused condition. Given this is a LE and a 1 of 100, it should pop back up in value as soon as this sale is done. I think I paid $125 for my first on back when they first came out. I've order two at this $50 price so my three knive average is $75 apiece...now thats a heck of a deal too.

Ok,
Let's put the web special price on these Elk 112's into perspective. I found an old 3 dot 112 in stag on the bay. I bid and won said knife for $35 + shipping. This old 3 dot 112 is in ruff shape, as you can see from the photo's. The brass is dinged up very badly and the tip of the blade has been broken off and the blade was re-shaped (it's scarry sharp). Now with the above condition said, I was happy to get this knife for that price (it was a steal at this price even in that condition).

I have bought a lot of Buck knives with stag shoes...I like them that way the best! A brand new from the factory 3 dot 112 with Elk shoes is a steal at $50...Hell it's a give away at $50. If your only thinking about getting one your wasting your time, just buy it...you can sell it any day and get your money back....but, you will not want to sell it...not even for twice what you paid.

Thats the way I look at it. I was really bummed when I found out after ordering, that the website incorrectly listed them NS :(.
However as others have mentioned, the brass probably does look better with the Ram than the NS would have. I do wish the Elk was going to be NS though. BUT for the price, what the heck, its still a lot of knife for the money...
HECK, its only about 15 bucks or so more than the standard current production 112. Perrty hard to complain to much.
