Bruce, what a fine knife ! I would have bought it but i already have 3 of your knives, so i thought it better to let someone else find out that you do some of the best blade grinds of all, and then get them scary sharp.
Hope you make more, maybe even a folder !

P.S., antler from hunting or a drop ?

I've hunted elk a few times, but haven't taken one yet. I bought a 5x5 rack a couple years ago for knife handles.

Hope you make more, maybe even a folder !

I keep dreaming about a folder, but haven't gotten around to starting one yet.

Maybe you guys should start taking bets....which will happen first Bruce will kill an elk or get a slippie made:p

bruce if you can swing the expense, the indian reservations in new mexico have some of the biggest elk around. very nice knife.--dennis

Dennis, big elk or big racks ? they don't necessarily go together. Rack size is dependant upon genetics and nutrition. Body size and rack size are not carried by the same genes.
A Spike rack is usually an even dark brown with some longitudinal grooves near the base and the shape of the tine can be a flattened oval. I think one of these could yield attractive handle material.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Thanks for the information Dennis. There are elk here in BC in certain places. I just have to spend more time hunting them instead of sheep, mountain goats, moose, whitetail deer, mule deer, caribou, ect.

Roland - I'll send you a PM.
