I've been meaning to do this for a while, but was afraid of how difficult it might be. It was difficult! After many assemblies and disassembles it's together.

I love the feel of the scales, they add grip and look cool. Of the 60 or so slabs I had cut of antler, only 2 slabs were straight enough over the whole length to make the scale mostly uniform in thickness.

Classy. Great work. I was thinking of doing the same thing myself with my new gen s30v large vantage. I may go to wood after hearing how difficult it is. I was thinking Bois D' Arc since I am Texan or Long Horn horn.

Thank You.
They are for sale as a set for $350

My first reaction was something pickled but then I thought what the heck is a wild plant fruit that matures in the fall in W. Canada.....I could go look it up but am to lazy .......ha

I knew I had a jar of Lin-speed gun stock finish somewhere, finally found it, so I had to strip the finish off the burl 301(wax) and do a 'gun-stock' finish.....multiple coat in progress. It may not be the best/modern finish but it lets you be a little sloppy and still gives a deep looking finish, i.e. I can continue to polish and put on finish right here by the computer.

Have 303 with scales off, waiting for one of the other burl slabs. Will do a 309 for a 3 knife set.....300

It's Dragon fruit :)
I've never used something like that 300, is it an oil base? Sounds like you been busy mangling too.

They both have good centering at rest, nice early lockup, good flipper action and solid lockup.
