I want to extend my deepest appreciation for the work you guys have done moderating the forum. I moderate several forums myself in other contexts and have a deep, first hand appreciation for what it takes to keep the tenor and tone of the place working well in the face strong, passionate and often oppossing views.

This forum works and that is no accident. You should be proud.

While I wish the new mods all success moving forward, the passing of the torch deserves a big and public thank you.
 
Oh I don't know about that. What else do they have to do. I mean what does Gus do? Watches a few goats. That can't be hard to do. Elliot on the other hand spends his time collecting beautiful knives then he has the audacity to take pictures of them and post em up here.
I mean they are trouble makers. They are a bad influence:p
OK rant off. Thanks guys for your hard work and sharing your knowledge.

Pinnah, thanks for starting this thread (I thought about doing the same thing when I read the announcement).
I've joined this forum only recently, but it didn't take me long to realize what a nice place this is, and populated with kind gentlemen.
This, of course, has alot to do with the work of the mods. We all wish Knarfeng and Peregrin the best in keeping this place like it is, or even (possibly) making it even better. I'm sure they will do good.
But, today, I agree that it's time to say thank you to Gus and Elliott. And yes, you should be proud of this.

Yes they are trouble makers but they have made the forum a great place to hang out in. I don't know what the heck they are going to do with all the spare time they have now but thanks so much guys for all of the information and professional assistance that you have given. Save the goats!!!
 
Thanks for your years of service, Gentlemen. It's truly been a pleasure having you at the helm on this small part of the boat.
 
Kudos to Gus and Elliott for a job well done! :thumbup: You've left some big shoes to be filled, but I'm guessing Frank and Gary are up to the challenge.

They are both still supermods. But they are stepping down from moderating this forum, giving someone else a chance at it.
 
Man....where have I been?...I heard nothing of this, ....Gus, Elliot...thank you on behalf of all of us, Great job done by two great guys.
I can only imagine the time it and dedication that it takes to do the job.

I can bet you that there are a lot of nervous goats around now that Gus has all this time on his hands :eek:

Wow....we are losing Gus and Elliot as our personal moderators? Feels like the passing of an epoch. That you, gentlemen, for the fine job you have done for the past many years.
 
It's not easy letting go of such competent hands! Thanks Gus and Elliott, for a stellar tour of duty. Frankly, I don't know how you did it for so long.
Hopefully your presence as "civilians" will continue!!
And welcome, Gary and Frank. You are brave souls - make sure your medical insurance is paid up!!:D
 
I came here as a stranger and Elliot and Gus took me in, educated me about traditionals and are now my friends.

Fellas you will be missed around here. I love the traditional forum and it is down to you both that it is the wonderful, civil, place that it is.

Moderating is a hard, thankless job and you both deserve a rest...........Please come back and visit regularly.

Our deepest thanks everyone. Just keep in mind it is really the members here who make the place what it is. Sometimes we just prod at some strays a little. :).

I just hope I will behave well now that I am one of the gang Frank and Gary might have to prod. ;)
