I was surprised when I heard. Two of the people that come to mind right away when I think of "Traditionals" are Elliot and Gus. And it's not because of their position as moderators. I've learned a lot from reading their posts and chicken eyeing scans of vintage ads and photos of their impressive collections. They have shared a lot of knowledge with us. I value their opinions and appreciate the advice that they've given me. I look forward to their continued participation to discussion. As moderators, they've kept "Traditionals" running smoothly... so smoothly that I sometimes forget that this is an online forum and not just a bunch of guy's talking knives and whittlin' on the porch. Their efforts and time are greatly appreciated. I'm happy that Frank and Gary have stepped up. I look forward to spending more time with Elliot, Gus and the rest of you guys in this folksy part of the web.
 
More accolades will surely come as more folks realize the change. I thank them for all they have done here and hope they won't be strangers. I have begun spending more time here than the Buck forum.....

I say a Amen to the choice of replacements. As both have always been class acts which I have tried to immulate.

My current feeling of family will continue in the wake of this change.

Blues and Bastid, thank you. I hope I haven't irked you guys too much, both of you do a good job, and share a lot of information. All around good people. I always look forward to pics of your collection, especially those custom knives Elliott.
 
Two great Moderators for sure. Two of many people I've enjoyed in this forum. I'm sure they won't be hard to find if you want to discuss cattle knives or goats... ;)
 
Well finally, I no longer have to pay tribute money to log in. Phwew! It was getting expensive, glad to hear the mob bosses have been disbanded. LOL.

Elliott and Gus,

Be well, and thank you, I have said it before, the Traditonal subforum is filled with brotherly love amongst knife nuts, and it was all you.

Frank and Gary have big shoes to fill, but I am betting they hit the ground running and don't even break stride.

Well said Steven. They are both very helpful and understanding, when new people enter. Beyond the knives, they are good folks.
I always liked the fact that, if somone came in with a little attitude, they got tuned up quickly, but fairly. Word spread that when ya came in here, ya best mind your manners...
It is to bad that the people we meet in our daily lives, don't have the manners that most do here.

There is no denying that, Gus.:thumbup: You and Elliott have gone a long way toward setting the tone of the forum though by not letting us stray too far off course and keeping disagreements from getting out of control. All of the time and effort that both of you have put in over the years is very much appreciated. I'm sure that Frank and Gary will do a terrific job going forward.
 
I'm a new guy to this forum, but one of the things that attracted me to it (aside from the wonderful knives!) is the friendliness and civility that are so obvious here. I'm sure that Elliot and Gus played a big part in that, as my experience has been that the mods set, and maintain, the tone of a forum. Elliot has already been gracious and helpful to me on a couple of occasions when I needed some guidance.

So, let me add my small thanks to Elliot and Gus.

I dont write here regular in a period of much work but I visit and read several times a week and this is a thread that requires a answer.

I have liked these two moderators. I think you have worked with this place as modells and supervisors to make it a great place.
I will still look for your posts and hoping to see your wonderful knifes and read your insightful posts as often as before.

Great job, Gus & Elliott. Have appreciated your loyalty and direction on here. Enjoy the greener pastures (but, watch the goats!) and look forward to your continued participation on here. Also, look forward to seeing you again in Atlanta.
