Here is a new one out of the shop today. At Blade West there was a maker there who specialized in stone knives and I really liked the elliptical shapes he had on several models so I decided to make something like them in steel :) Here it is all 12 3/16 of her in 5160 with jade green G10. The blade is 7 3/8 long. It almost feels like some Natchez Bowie designs I have handled but with smoother lines. To me it feels primitive....like something you'd find being used in a far off jungle village :D

oooh man i like leaf shaped blades! very nicely done Mr Siegle.

it would be a perfect partner to my jade/natural micarta Pat Randall blade....

That looks very cool Bill, I like to see how it performs !

By the way do you still make your scandi bushcraft knives ?

Thanks guys :) pitdog I do still make the scandi bushcraft design to order. Just shoot me an email and we can discuss it.

I love the look of that knife. It has that exact primitive look you were going for.

I like symmetrical spear points and knives with no drop to the point like the Skookum.
A symmetrical spear point with a single edge ,can pierce like a dagger yet cut like a good single edge.
You can even make the grind higher than the center of the blade for a sharper cutting edge.

Hey Bill. It was good seeing you at the show. You turn out some realy interesting stuff.
How is the other SAR inspired project coming? Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

I haven't gotten around to playing with the other project yet. I think a bunch of guys are headed up to the woods this coming sunday and I plan on bringing the two protos for testing. Come on out!

John mentioned they were getting together Sunday. I'll have to make a serious attempt to make it. If I do I'll be bringing the Busse AK. I would love a chance to test out the protos. I'll have to let Mike know that you are going to be there.

Talked to the wife today and she is cool with me going. See you Sunday Bill.

That's a pretty cool looking blade. Very smooth lines to the blade. With that simple handle, I might get confuzzled and forget which way was up, though.

Looks kinda like one that i had made for me a while back out of 3/8" thick S7 stock - at about a foot in overall length, it's really really heavy, which forced me to reduce the width of the blade from 2.5" to around 2.25.... Anyway your design is a little more practical, and i bet it doesn't pull your pants down when you wear it on your belt...
