Elmax identification

Damn good question , can't wait to see what is suggested . I'm not thinking that it's possible

You would likely have to send it to a lab to have the composition analyzed. Probably expensive, more so than the bar itself.

Why would you buy anything from a vendor you had doubts about?
Is there a reason you suspect it may not be what the source that you acquired from said it was?

I hear if you place the bar in Coca Cola, it should actually take all the carbonation out of the soda in no more than 4 minutes. Then you know it's legit as sh*t.

Well, there's another option. On a Friday night, take it to your local university with 2 cases of cheap beer, and find a group of chem grad students with access to a PMI analyzer...

Most steels have distinctive spark color/volume when grinding. You would have to find someone with experience grinding Elmax to confirm it, though.
