I have always considered the BM Ares as one of BM’s best designs.
The 3 1/2” spearpoint blade is practical in size and shape.
Axis lock is a marvel as regards smooth opening, positive lockup as well as keeping the blade closed.
All-round a great knife.

The one problem I have with the knife is that it, like the vast majority of “tactical” knives, has too many sharp square corners.
The human hand has no such angles, therefore - if you want to marry a hand to a knife handle and want the union to be comfortable, you have to give the handle rounded corners.
I suspect that the only reason that the manufacturers do not do this is because it would be labor intensive and thus costly.

I reshaped the handle slightly to give the belly a smooth curve and as there is no finer feeling than the warmth of natural wood, I gave the knife a handle of Dessert Ironwood.
Smooth and warm – fits the hand like it is part of it.
Pocketclip can be fitted if required.
This knife has never cut anything and will be shipped in the original box.
$185

that looks great! Although maybe if the G10 were polished it would match the polished ironwood? I agree the Ares is a top design but you have definitely improved on it!
