OAL: 9 1/2”
Blade: 4 1/2” X 1" wide at plunge cut; Flat Grind with recurve;
5/32” thick towards front of blade; tapered tang; brushed satin finish

Accents: White Spacers
Bolsters: 416 Stainless Steel with brushed satin finish
Pins: 3/32" 416 Stainless Steel
Sheath: Fully tooled sheath (by Maker) in premium 6-7oz leather; for right hand carry;
oiled and left natural with a Super Sheen finish (not yet applied in picture below)

Note: This is a new design made especially for the A.G. Russell "Knife Event" Show this summer but sadly she's not coming with me.
Why? Well, things happen and in this case the white spacer material on the left side of the bolster moved slightly during glue up -
and of course I didn't catch it until it was too late.

But for a discount, let's see if you can overlook a little, and I mean a little blemish on this emerald beauty. Expose pic below.

This new piece is so comfortable, quick in the hand and cuts with a whisper.

Beautifully Tapered Tang
*Note: The white spacer pulled slightly (1.5mm) away from the left spine during glue up.
This is obviously purely cosmetic and will not affect the function of the knife.
There is not a void as it is filled with adhesive - so it will not collect dirt or moisture.

That's a real piece of crap, there. I mean, that looks like you don't even know what you're doing. You should just give this piece to me and keep practicing.

Wayne, v. unique knife and v. capable too i bet. i don't quite understand this part of the description: "5/32” thick towards front of blade;" over 3000 posts here and i'm not sure which part of a blade is the "front" !
do you mean spine thickness near the handle ?
thanks, roland

Hi Roland!

This knife has a pretty exaggerated tapered tang so the thickest part of the knife is about three inches back from the point towards the handle. It's basically where the tapered tang and the distal taper of the blade intersect.

Take care and God Bless.

That is a very handsome knife. :thumbup:

Can you tell me a little bit about how the handle slabs are prepared?

Brass -

When I am looking for "dyed and spectacular" burls there is only one place I go and that is - Craig Stevens Studio in Alaska. Even though he is about 250 miles south of Anchorage, out in the boonies, Craig is a MASTER at finding the most unique burl for knife scales that I've ever seen. He then double and triple dyes them in the most amazing colors. Now I'm not a bit afraid of giving out a "trade secret" because Craig's wood is expensive. His work literally personifies the old saying of "you get what you pay for". However, as you can see it is worth every penny. His stabilization and dyes penetrate all the way through the wood so the finish is even and beautiful.

Today I'm working on another "Scythe" and this one will be dressed in more wood from Craig. Like this emerald green one, the scales for the new one are Masure Birch (common in Northern Europe but not so much here in the U.S.) dyed a wonderful mix of Tanzanite and Cobalt blue. I can't wait to buff this one out.

Take care and God Bless -

This one is SOLD

I do have a new one almost ready to post - just doing the photos. The new one is handled in some gorgeous Cobalt Blue, curly Masure Birch - full handle, no bolsters. It's light, quick in the hand and beautiful. Let me know if you're interested before I get it posted.

We were exchanging e-mails at one point, but I haven't heard back from you in a while. So, please shoot me an e-mail when you can.
