EMERGENCY CELL TIPS (Old but worth the read)

I am not sure about car locks but your home remotes work on sound. Some geek with way to much spare time recorded every button on every remote in his house and then had each recording as songs on his ipod so he could run everything in his house from his ipod.

The most important thing about using a cell in an emergency is you don't have to pay your bill to call 9/11. I keep an old cell that is not on any plan in my emergency kit with a car charger just in case. It almost makes more sense than paying for cell service as the only other number you might need to call is home or AAA.

ya can get rates so cheap now i dont see the sense in having a dedicated 911 only phone, i suppose if ya just dont have the cash that would work though, but i would think a plan with say 60 mins a month or something would be pretty inexpensive.

How about donating an old phone like that to some old person who can't get out much or isn't in good health and doesn't have a phone in every room?
