Emergency Radio?

Hey, everyone;
I would like to purchase a basic battery operated radio and would like to get one that has some short wave options, something I could follow the weather with a little more detail than the local stations during emergencies.
This would just be for our house when the power goes out, as it does annually for several hours in the fall, during high winds and heavy rain. We also often have floods.
Normally I follow the weather systems online, but that is not possible when the power is out.

I know there are some very nice radios out there, that are also a little more than we need. I would love to get one of the really nice emergency radios, but need to look at something affordable (<$100) right now.

We are considering this radio, but I don't know anything about, and couldn't find any reviews of it:

Has most of the basic features, and is at a great price.

Anyone have an opinion on this, or suggestions for a good economical option?

Thanks again for your thoughts.

The original is made by Freeplay. There are a few models . Check www.ccrane.com This is the best option for emergencies since it's not dependent on power.

Baygen Freeplay...accept no substitute, I have 3 different models, all work 100% and are a great value when you consider NEVER buying batteries again!

Got the Eton FR300 for Xmas. Nice little radio and an unexpected surprise. None of the cell phone adaptors fit my phone, but we're about to upgrade phones. We'll see...
