Good point - water, in many municipalities is pressure or gravity fed. Unless the main is severed or power is out for a long time, there will be some water pressure in these instances.

I certainly agree that there is no substitute for having a cache of water handy - easy to get a couple 55gal or 40gal drums filled and pre-treated. Figuring approx 1 gallon per day per person, this should get you through until you can find another source.
 
see this is why I chose the HEST by ESEE...that little compartment holds a good bit of my drinking water, and I can still keep my waterproof matches in there...mmm, now that's tasty!
