I know this is not that profound, but this Emerson mod sure made me happy! I live in Hawaii, my favorite clothing are the cargo shorts I basically live in year round, always have a knife in the pocket, and I don't like the pockets shredded! All of us know Emerson knives are notorious pocket shredders. I took the scales off, dipped a small piece of 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper in coconut oil (or olive oil, whatever), and gently took the edge off that G10. Then used a few strokes of 0000 steel wool just for a tad more of smoothing and shine. Fantastic, the knife is still grippy but slides in and out of the pocket nicely without shredding. Now my only complaint with Emersons is trying to center the damn blade!
The smoothing of the G10 may not show up that well in the photos. I went rather gentle this time. With my previous Emersons, I dug in deeper and really smoothed and shined the scales, which I liked, but this one, as stated, I just took the nasty edge off.
