Tony,
The quality is good if you can pick it out yourself! The QC varies greatly on these. Do a search in the Emerson forum and you find much on this. If I had to choose, Id keep my AFCK over this one though, something you may want to look into.

They are not chisel ground. The only long time experience I have is watching Spark yank his out every 5 minutes at work

I carried one for about a week but I can not find it! I liked it myself and the quality was great. The Wave feature is really cool and fun when you get the hang of it. That it why Spark is always pulling his out. The knife I mean

Spark is writing a long term review for To The Point so if you have subscrbided look for it.

The wave kind of becomes addictive. I've only had my commander for 3 days, but I really enjoy pulling it out and having it open almost automatically. Kind of neat!

I remember reading and hearing how this can be hard on pockets. I can see why.

I look forward to reading Spark's review in To The Point.

It's been awhile since I've shown this off and since I've taken a new pic, I guess it's time to show again.

The first one I recieved functioned well and the blade was sharp, other than that it was a POS!

Everything was there, it just needed to be finished! The Ti frame stuck out beyond the G10 scales in some areas and in others it was reversed. I still liked the knife overall and spent quite a bit of time overhauling it. Now it and a newer one are my favorite daily carry folders. Most of the other ones I've seen are made MUCH better than the first one I bought. My only wish would be for other blade materials. I keep saying that when I get slow, I'm going to make a D2 Blade for my first one.....
To me, they are just MORE knife than most of the BMs and Spydercos, etc. The Wave feature is fun also.

For its intended purposes the Commanders ergonomics can' t be beat! The blade is double ground but its edge is finished on only one side. Ditto for the serrations.

The wave feature has a cool factor but I don' t care much for it. Depending on the pockets style and its construction the wave does not always catch properly. Some thing to consider if you need the folder in a pinch.

Quality control varys a great deal. And as already mentioned, one should personally inspect and handle one before making a decision to purchase.

I prefer the plain edge black finish version. And would be thrilled to see a waveless tip down carry model! Anyone else?

I've had a couple of the Commanders and quality also varied. As stated above, I've seen the liners bigger tha the scales too, but the biggest problem I've encountered w/ them, was the overcamming of the liner lock. That makes it a real pain trying to close it after you flick out the blade real hard. I myself would also like to see a tip down variation.
