Emerson Commander Saved My A$$.....

Who's trolling on my suburban survival story?......:D This was supposed to be about KNIVES, not a darn Gun, although that might have helped me feel just a tad better at the time.;)

Nah, inexpensive gun tips are helpful since I am planning on buying a small portable pistol sometime soon :p.

ok then :p
I like autos but a wheel gun in much less likely to jam on you when you need
I'm not saying that all autos jam, if you buy from a good reputable maker you should be fine
some people like the extra security of wheel guns reliabilty
there are downsides, they take more effort to reload
but really that shouldnt matter, you rarely hear about someone having to deal with more then one attacker

For small (albeit heavy), portable, cheap, and RELIABLE I'd go with my Ruger SP101 snubbie. Since I'm in California though, it's always at home in the drawer.

Great story. I agree with Esav, your alertness and self composure had as much or more to do with the story having a happy ending as the knife did.
