Picked this one up and it's just too bulky for me.
This one started off as a 2013 CQC-15 SF and was converted to a framelock by the ever-talented Nathawut. The blade appears to have been very lightly resharpened, and there are some scratches on the primary bevel that show up in direct lighting, and thus are hard to photograph. They are on the lockside of the blade at the transition of the belly to the tanto tip. The blade has a blue Ti thumb disk from Gray Precision.
The only original part from the handle is the show side liner; the front scale has been replaced with a gray/black layered G10 scale with an Anso pattern. The fitment and patterning are flawless. The pivot and hardware have been replaced by Nathawut's titanium pivot and screws, all anodized blue to match the thumbdisk. Larger blue titanium standoffs take the place of the old ones. On the lock side, the liner has been replaced with a full Ti framelock, with a sandblasted finish. The lock has a little bit of stick from being new, but locks the blade up with zero play. It's a huge improvement from the original liner lock. This knife also includes a 3D milled and contoured clip with excellent retention, without being too strong. I can't even find a snail trail anywhere on the lockside.
Centering is dead on, there's no blade play, the action is smooth, and the detent holds the blade in excellently while still having light lockbar tension. Overall, the fit and finish on this thing is mindblowingly good. Anyone that has handled Nathawut's work can attest to this.
I am asking $400 375 SOLD for this one, which is well below cost. This knife will also include ALL ORIGINAL HARDWARE and packaging, so it can be returned fully to stock at any time. Also interested in trades for a CF Large Sebenza Insingo 21 or a 3.5" XM-18 from the newest releases, as well as other high end productions or midtechs.
