Emerson CQC6

To the Usual Suspects,

Here I was reading through all the previous responses, formulating what I was going to say, and wouldn't you know, as soon as I read your posts, there was nothing left for me to say. I guess great minds really do think alike. I didn't think anybody was going to bring up the supply and demand issue, maybe we all need a refresher course in Economics 101?

BTW, in response to Emerson's use of ATS-34, he has, relatively recently, switched over to 154-CM.

Finally, Emerson deserves every bit of popularity he deserves. He has made the tactical knife market what it is...

Greg:
It has to do with design, function beauty and art. When all of these lements come together you get great cars, great guns, great knives and art. It is why I've worn a Rolex submariner for 20 years, drive Volvo's, own an H&K SP89 and love Emerson knives. Emerson knives have a mystique that no other combat folder has captured. Certainly there are other combat folder makers whose pieces are made as well as Emerson and of the same material. One of these is Greg Lightfoot. He has the sense of design that I appreciate. I see many people copying the current fad in many field with exccelent construction but they are missing the element of design and style. I ordered my Emerson when there were not many makers in the combat folder field and now there are lots but thier is only one Emerson. Hope this helps.

As for my friend's CQC6 order, thanks Derek for clarifying. I think he will appreciate the information greatly. he should have had his order date correct in the first place. As for the Specwar knives, I recently aquired a CQC6 and it is everything you guys have said it to be. Having carried a BM CQC7 since they first came out years ago, I have nothing but good things to say about Ernie's Knives. I have also repeated numerous times that I feel that Emerson Knives customer service is one of the best in the business. I had a first year production Commander that had a liner problem and Emerson Knives sent me back a brand new knife, no questions asked. As for the prices, I think people will pay whatever it takes to own what they want. Demand and popularity are factors, but the bottom line is "how much do you really want it?" I wear a Rolex and drive a Porsche because I can afford to and I want to. I also own several knives by Phill Hartfield and I purchased them because I liked them. Now I own a CQC6 because it's a great folder from a great maker. .................Thanks for all the cool information! DrRMJ
