I have a custom fixed-blade that may be a one-of-a-kind Emerson custom.I would like to trade it for a CQC8.When I got this knife last year, I sent some photos to Emerson and asked him if he could give me some information about the knife. Here is his hand written reply - " This knife was made about ten years ago (1989) as a martial arts knife for an Israeli Hisardut instructor. Don't know where its been since then, but that is where it started. It's handmade by me and all original parts. A very strong knife if I recall. Thank you for your support, my best regards, Ernest R. Emerson "
Here is a discription of the knife-
length- 9 3/4"
blade tip to handle- 5 1/2"
sharpened edge- 4 1/4"
handle- 4 1/4
The condition is new and unsharpened (original edge), with the exception of some burnishing on the blade caused by the kydex sheath. The blade has a true chisle grind on the RIGHT SIDE, and the Emerson half-moon logo. The blade is satin finished. The handle slabs are a dark brown micarta whith a textured surface, and are attached with two allenhead screws on each side. The wrist thong is black and grey striped. The sheath is made of two pieces of keydex formed to the knife and held together by brass chicago-screws. There is no attachment for a belt loop.
