I've added a Mini CQC-7B to my collection, and to the EDC rotation. And it is going to be a good EDC. It is a 2014 model, and seems perfect. Centered, smooth and pretty. The reason I purchased the Mini was the blade length. I've been using larger knives, so for a change I'm moving toward smaller carries. But feeling the stout Mini 7 does not make me feel handicapped in the least.
Broke out the Edge Pro and ground a 22 dps edge, 44 degrees inclusive.
The factory grind was pretty close to 25 degrees so I relaxed it just a little.
It's extremely sharp at this angle so it's a good start. I'll work it and check the durability but I can't see there being an issue.
Also installed a new clip and fabricated an oversized thumb disc out of .44 mag brass for my oversized thumb.
