Emerson HD Knives

'12s have been selling for a premium lately, HD7's too, last october i was gonna get a HD7 as i liked 'em, thought they were disco'd, and it was my b-day so i started looking, could only find a couple and they were running probably 40% or 50% over what i had paid for a '12 previously and i just didnt wanna spend that on one.

And luckily it look likes we wont have to pay that much either :)

I'll be down for another one or two in the coming months/years or however long its going to be :p:thumbup:
 
I have seen 12's going for good prices at the toxic place. I was damn tempted myself even though I just recently got one. I'm very glad to hear they are still in production. I would be extremely happy to own a stonewashed one!

yeah i am gonna eventually get an HD7, and i want to also find a custom '12, i really like the '12 a lot.

when i 1st got into emersons i only liked the tanto stuff, now i like the other blades better, go figure lol.
 
I'v nearly bought a custom 12 a couple of times but TBH the fact it wasn't a frame lock made me think too much and I missed them.

I'll defo pick up a couple more HDs though, who knows maybe a custom 12 could be on the cards one day too. :thumbup:
 
yep whats up with the liner lock on the custom '12s? i never have understood that, i wonder if the liner is really thick like a buck/strider 880 is? probably not, i imagine its like all the other stuff,
 
I understand that these knives are not discontinued and that's great to hear.

What I fail to understand is why they are so difficult to get hold of.

I had occasion to visit a few of the big time online retailers the other day and none of them had the CQC-12 or HD-7 in stock (except for a couple of combo edge 12s).

What is up with that? Why does it take so long to produce these knives? Surely its not that difficult to produce?

Its a production knife for crying out loud!

I love this company's knives but I find very frustrating sometimes that some of the product is so hard to get.

Rolf, I guess so.... but it still sucks!

Anyway, I got mine on the secondary market and it was like new, so I'm sorted, but still I was lucky.

This is the premium model of the company. It should be out there if someone wants to drop the dough and doesnt have the patience or time to hunt one up used.

What i've read is that EKI is a smaller production company compared to Benchmade/Spyderco/Kershaw. They work on one knife at a time, so that's why you always see their knives out of stock.
 
I would love to see a stonewash HD-7:) I wanted to pick up an HD7 in pretty much any configuration and have had no luck for a while even the auction sites never have them.
