Whatup, guys? Just wanted to let you all know that some of the new knives are on sale at kershawguy.com

Some of these designs are very interesting, and even though they are made in China I plan to pick one or two up to check them out.

The E/K's are fine but I like what I have... CQC7 and the HD7.

I'll eventually check a couple out. My 10 and mini Com aren't going anywhere though.

I think it's a good thing, I have a cqc 4 and a cqc 7 kershaw/emerson coming later this week. I have been wanting a emerson for a while, if I like these I will definitely get a emerson. I spent $70 for both. If something turns me off about them I can beat on them at work, give them away, sell them.

Both companies are outstanding, I think I'll like em, and probably end up getting a emerson sometime soon.

Hmm, a lot of noses getting turned up in here. I think the collaborations are a positive thing for both brands. In this instance, KAI sells more knives, and EKI gets their designs in the hands of people that may not even be aware of their existence. Ever read a "what was your first Emerson" thread? There's a a 62 pager on the green site, I read it all, and I bet 25% of the answers were "Benchmade CQC7". Hell, my first Emerson was a BM CQC7, and here I am now. Years later, most are still buying Emersons all because they were exposed by a collaboration.

And we were all new at this once, when a $50 knife was boarder line ridiculous. Now, after progression and developing an appreciation for knives, the same people don't blink at spending $200-$300 on a blade. How many more potential customers does EKI reach by collabs with mainstream mass production knife makers? Lots. It's unfortunate that so many purists see it in a negative light rather than it's potential to grow a company we all like.

Maybe Ernie will do so well with this that he'll buy more machines and employ more people. More jobs, that's a good thing, and more chance of me seeing the CQC-11 return. :D

My problem isn't with Emerson at all. My problem is with KAI.

Emerson is a smart business man and I'm very sure that many more people get exposed to his knives. We all know this will happen with the Kershaw collab as they are very entry level as they are made in China and the ZT will get an Emerson design in the safe of who view their knives as pocket jewelry.

I much rather give my money to a respectable individuals company and not put money into a company that allows representatives to run rampant all over the forums insulting members left and right and then giving out gifts to smooth ruffled feathers. Says a lot about their business imo.

That's just my opinion, but I would have been all over an EKI/Spyderco collab like white on rice.

I like the collab knives, they're just too small for me. Waiting on the ZT effort.

All good, fellas! I enjoy my Emerson and KAI products, as well as my Spydercos, Ka-Bars, Bucks, etc.

I just wanted to give you dudes a headsup, just in case some of you were interested.

I find it's better to just buy the product you want & ignore the internet chit-chat (& I did read all that KAI BS)

If you read all the postings, Chris Reeve is an arrogant DB, Mick Strider lied about his military record and Emersons fit/finish is so awful they should sell for $50.

I ignore that BS & own knives from all those companies (I have a Kershaw black blur that is a totally awesome beater knife and I paid $30 for it)

John,

I agree with you on that on most points. I don't deny that those manufacturers make a good knife.

However, my issue is that rep didn't actually build KAI or knives at any time. Last I checked he's the director of marketing. If he had built knives, my tune would be different. I think Mike Stewart of BRKT is scum but I still would buy one of his knives as I know he built that company. I would support CRK and Strider, despite being owned by abrasive individuals, they actually have built knives and my tune is different in that regard.

Just my two cents.

Exactly. If you worry about every little shortcoming behind each knife manufacturer, you are going to have a hard time choosing brands.

I want to get one, but since I recently picked up a SOCFK-B and 7AW, I'll wait a bit. Really like the Kershaw CQC5k though.

Totally get what you're saying, man. And I appreciate your thoughts. Hell, if we all felt the same way this forum would be pretty boring.

Thanks for chiming in, man.

Spyderco Emersons happened a long time ago. Waved Delica/Enduras.

Personally, I find it far more offensive that Mick Strider (or.Mickey Ray Burger or whatever his name really is) blatantly lied about his military record to promote himself as some kinda bad-ass black ops dude, or a mercenary than some douche from KIA who was going around insulting people on the internet.

But, it doesn't stop me from buying the product (I had my Strider SnG in my pocket today)
