Emerson Knife - Real or Fake?

I would like to thank everyone for the assistance. I feel a little embarassed that I knew nothing about such a well respected knife. My only excuse is my passion had been antique bone handled folders. Anyway thanks again.

hey dont feel bad, just think about how the guy at the garage sale would feel if he knew! someone at some point paid a decent amount of money for that folder..congrats on the great score.

Fake knives usually lack the fit and finish of the knives they're copying. The ones I've seen are usually fairly evident, though some care must be taken in that fakes are most likely liner locks. A close inspection of the locking mechanism usually reveals the overall quality of the knife. If the blade is a "super steel" it ought to be a little more difficult to sharpen. Based on just the photos, I'd bet the knife is genuine.

2k for a rare 6 maybe, but not a raven/specwar, definitely one of the best finds ever posted on the forums though.

An update. I contacted Earnest Emerson from GlockTalk and he confired he did indeed build this knife and it was probably an early custom order.

Wow, congrats! Too bad garage sales don't even seem to exist in my town...
