My repaired Commander arrived today, and it was repaired perfectly!

My issues included a sticky, stiff lock, and lateral blade play that could not be adjusted out.

Both of these issues were resolved, and now the knife locks up solid, and has no lateral blade play whatsoever.

Great job by the Emerson crew!
 
Just out of curiosity:

Can you tell how they managed to fix it?

Did they install a new liner or shim the one that was already there?
 
I recently traded for a well used Commander. The liner lock was slipping.

Sentit off to EKI and they replaced the liner for only the cost of shipping even though they knew the knife was used and I'm not the first owner.

That's great service.

It looks like both liners were replaced, as well as all of the screws, pivot pin, washers, and maybe the scales too! My scales were in excellent shape, so they may not have been replaced. The new liners match the scales better than the old ones, and the machining marks are very minimal.

This is the only Emerson knife I have ever had a problem with, and after 2 weeks, it's back, and in brand new condition.

I couldn't ask for better service!
