Emerson Lockbacks?

This is so crazy it just might work and while we are discussing it, why not a collaboration with Mr. Demko so we could have the triad lock on an Emerson wit the wave? I would so totally buy that!

Does anybody have some of the Emerson Hardwear Knives. They were lock backs and I think the were made in Japan.

W1- The yoroi toshi blade was designed to punch a hole into the older leather armor worn back in the day. It's an effective and badazz :D blade design.
And you are correct re: The Emerson Hardware folders. I wish I had bought one.

This idea I like. It's disappointing a lock design as good as the tri ad lock can only be gotten in a cold steel or a demko custom. For me lock backs are okay....but tri ads are really good. Course this tosses out the idea of a lower cost emerson. Have to think that over.......

Would love to see a bali version but the lockback... eeehhh idk so much about that... haha

A. G. Russell stated that the lockback is a fantastic folder design.
The lockback folder will come around again. Many knuts are now going back to the traditionals.

Back up.
Hey, ER. Is a lock-back folder a blip on Ernest's radar? I had to ask.
Ernest could design a lockback that could be disassembled.

No. Emerson made a HARDWARE line years ago made in Japan with Japanese steel. They were cheaper and lighter because of the molded plastic handles. I keep one in my glove box. Not sure they have any left at the shop but you could call and ask.

I don't presently own an Emerson folder but...Emerson did some runs of framelocks, why not do some of lockbacks? I'm sure if either style was put as an option for a popular model like the 7 or Commander it would sell awesome! It would appeal to the more slim, EDC, lightweight knife users. I know that's not what Emerson is all about but so what if it's slimmer!? Overbuild it and use Demko's tri-ad lock and it'll be durable as any other Emerson.

Have any pictures? I have no idea what it is that's being discussed.

Lockback? Yes. Especially with a little bit of an upgrade... CS/ Spyderco style perhaps. Otherwise, keep ergos the same.
