Dear Members,
I would like to sincerely apologize to anyone and everyone who was affected, disappointed or let down by the cancellation of the Emerson Lottery at the 2016 BLADE Show.
What happened to me was every custom knifemakers worst nightmare. UPS lost our knives. Three packages were shipped in exactly the same size box, picked up at exactly the same time and addressed to exactly the same place, all 3-day select. Two boxes had stuff in them. Things for the show I could have easily replaced at Walmart. Those two boxes arrived precisely on time. The third package, the one with the knives? No one knows where that one is.
Today is going to be a long day of numerous phone calls, endless minutes/hours on hold (we spent 5 hours on the phone Friday evening with UPS) and a lot of different stories which to me sounds like a bunch of supervisors just trying to cover their rear end.
We had put a lot of time and effort into anticipating the biggest and best lottery ever and Murphy just stepped in and said no. All of us feel like we really let you down.
So, I hope we find them and I hope we get them back. They were insured. But that will be a whole other battle Im sure.
It was a good show in spite of this matter but it sure couldve been better.
Sincerely,
Ernest Emerson
