Just ordered one of these. What are everyones thoughts on them? I have owned a couple of Horsemans in the past but I not this model.

It's the only Emerson I own, but a great simple design, and perfect general EDC size. Love the blade shape/design. That being said, I am waiting to try the Mini CQC-7A which has the same basic blade, but the mini 7 handle shape. Curious to find out which I will like more.

Out of 8 Emerson's, my Mini and CQC 7A are carried the most.

I really like my mini a-100. Has a good feel in the hand and takes up practically zero pocket space. The blade is a nice slicer and the flat spine of the knife is incredibly comfortable for my thumb when really working at something.

My ONLY complaint with the Mini A-100's design is there needs to be a slightly larger notch in the grip for your thump to open it up. My chunky digits have a hard time sometimes. It required more of a push straight up than out, like the rest of my Emersons.

All in all - it's a great EDC piece. And another thing about it is the size/shape of it doesn't scare the sheeple

That's been my experience with my full sized A-100. I really like Emerson's "v" grind, it's super easy to sharpen with a flat stone and get a scary sharp edge. I used my A-100 yesterday to cut up half of a house worth of carpet, to be rolled up and disposed.

I ordered a 'mini yesterday :D

That's the main reason I ordered mine - for when I want a knife that looks less scary, and for when I travel to areas with a 3" blade limit.

Just ordered my 3rd one. I figured I better get another now that they have been dis-continued.

I just got a Mini A-100 and really like it for the most part. I didn't realize they are discontinued, I might order another. Strangely, the A-100 isn't on their discontinued list, but I can't find them anywhere.

I just got one, and I'm super impressed.

I expected it to be a slightly shorter version of the full sized A-100, but it's smaller in width as well, which is good. The knife is as proportionate, and perfect, as the full sized version, just a bit smaller.

The smaller size isn't holding it back much, this seems like a very capable knife.

Also, for the first time with an EKI knife for me, it's perfect fit and finish wise. There's no gaps between the G10 and frame, no weird machining marks, lock needs no "break in", etc.

I'm going to get another while I can. I finally found a (barely) sub 3" bladed knife that I'm confident will meet my needs.

The mini A-100 was one of my grail knives. I finally found a plain edge mini A-100 and loved everything about it except one thing. It wouldn't cut a dang thing! It would slice paper and that's it. I was so disappointed. I would go to cut cardboard and it would just slide off. I'm not saying anything bad about Emerson here. The knife was awesome other than that. Now I just look at it.

Got one at home in the mail as well as a Pete Gray monster thumb disc to help with easier opening.

I only carry slipjoints these days but it is the one modern folder I miss owning.

I picked one up recently, I really liked it until the lock failed under slight pressure from the back of my thumb. I don't even know if that's considered normal.

i have both an mini and a regular a-100.
i carry the mini more often.

how is the edge on yours?
mine came a bit jacked, i still need to get that taken care of.

I'd see if I could get it to "break in" by opening it and closing it a couple hundred times, then if it still isn't seating properly I'd send it in.

I thought that my recent Persian had a "bad" lock, but it just needed to break in. Now it locks up perfectly.
