Looks like your note needs an update
Done. This policy makes it impossible for me to "bump" items for sale when I am travelling, so items for sale languish at the bottom of the list for long periods. Not very "Gold Member" friendly.

Bumping hasn’t existed since before you were a member. That’s why you can repost a sale/trade thread every 14 days. The date pic is only required when starting a new thread.

Thanks for clearing that up. I don't see the technical difference between "bumping" and "reposting", but as far as the practical effects of reposting the same thread, it seems to me that the reposted thread is seen as a new thread and needs another date pic. I suppose I'm doing it wrong. Can you enlighten me? Thanks.

When you reply to an Exchange thread, it keeps its place as far as the date it was posted. As opposed to when you reply to a thread in the discussion areas. Say it was created a year ago, a new a reply will bring the thread to the top of that section.

If you want your exchange thread to receive max exposure, it would behove you to take advantage of the two week repost rule

OK. So my main question is how does one repost? Simply making an entry on the Exchange doesn't do it, and when I copy and paste the sales items as a new thread I have to re-do the timestamp.

Start a new thread with a new timestamp every 14 days to keep your threads current

OK. Which brings me back to my original problem of how do you start a new thread with a new timestamp if you're traveling or otherwise unable to take a new photo of the for-sale items?

To that I would say if you can’t easily access them to take a new date picture then you also can’t take any additional pictures for potential buyers so I wouldn’t list them in a new sale.

Yeah, kinda problematic taking a bunch of sharp, pointy and valuable objects with me when traveling. And on the one occasion I can recall in the last 25 years a potential buyer wanted more photos (of a very expensive pistol), they were willing to wait till I got back home. This time stamp requirement is very unwieldy. But at least I have been doing the reposting correctly. Thanks for the help.

Just my opinion, but if you can't take new pictures in a timely fashion because you are far way from your blades, you probably won't be able to ship them quickly either.... That might worry customers?

Maybe sell knives when life isn't so busy.... :)

It's never been a problem. If I'm away and unable to fulfill till I get back, I let potential buyer know what the schedule will be. Never had a problem. It's just communication.

Also, nice knives!
